In The Past Few Days

Have you ever heard of the phrase "Music Globalization"?
If not...Then this is the best way to know my definition of that phrase!

The song released in Latifa's official website a week or so before the official release of the album on 12th of July 2008.

The first time I heard it It shocked me, I didn't expect to listen to anything like that ever...The song mixes genuine Arab singning teqniqe which is "Arab Tarab" (طرب عربي) - you can hear it when Latifa start singing in the beggining - with an Arab sad melody played with violin, in some parts it feels like the violin is dancing with the westurn disco beat and the electro guitar in the song, I can rephrase that to mixing two extreme unrelated music from two different worlds in a great harmony.

I can't explain that anymore, but you have to listen to it and you'll figure it out (and I would love to know what do you think).

As far as I know, the music video is going to release soon...I will add it here when it's out, maybe with English subtitles since many anonymous people requested the translations of the song (I didn't relize that people actually read my blogs!)

UPDATE: They refer to this music genre as "TekTonik" or "Tectonic", it even has it's own dance!
This is the first Arab Tektonik song, Latifa mixed it with Arab instruments.

In the last few days...
He had enough strength to live his life without me...Why?
I can't believe that he accepted to allow the night to fall while he is not beside me!

If he was planning for something...
Why didn't he tell me about it?!
People, When he forget all about me...My life will end instantly!

I've never thought he would push me away and live with other people...
My dear heart, with whom shall I forget my agony if he walked away; and I will always wonder my beloved one now belongs to who?

What is he doing now and where is he?
If one day he saw me with his own eyes...
That day he will feel sorry about me...
Without him, my heart is scared because it already knows the subsequence of being apart

I've never thought he would push me away and live with other people...
My dear heart, with whom shall I forget my agony if he walked away; and I will always wonder my beloved one now belongs to who?

My reailty

I can't really remember when did that song exactly released, I think it was during my Summer school in 2000. At the time, it was my national anthem...I used to listen to it all the time non stop and sometimes I still do.

It's a sad song, I love the music of it and the lyrics and everything about it.

Song name: Haqeeqat Waqi'ei (My reailty)
Album: Haqeeqat Waqi'ei (حقيفة واقعي) in Gulf region and Yameen Allah (يمين الله) in the rest of the Arab World (released in 2001 or 2000, I can't really remember but it reminds me of Summer school)
Song genre: Slow, Oriental, Belly Dance
Singer: Asalah, Assala, Assalah, Asala
Lyrics by: Gheyoodh -
Composed & Arranged by: Mohammad Dhiya'a - محمد ضياء
Translated by: RADIANT GUY (ME)

You've been upset because of me...And I didn't know how to make it up to you...
Nor I knew the end of your oppression and questioning...
I am going to leave my love and hide my depresstion in my veins because I don't want to bother you
I am the one who would give you anything while your opressing won't change me...
If leaving will make you feel better, I will ask God to help me...
And don't forget the honestly of my faithfulness, my reality and the way I am thinking of you...
You've been upset because of me...And I didn't know how to make it up to you

I am the one who dedicated her life to you, to your sadness and your craziness
I always forgiven you but you never knew that...
Because you were my universe, exactly how I used to be yours...
And because I really love you, I accpeted to allow your love to me dies and to hold the spirit in my chest

I care about you and I try to protect you from your self, your present and your past...
And I am afraid that our life time pass by
If you have a word you want to say, I am missing that word
I want to give a chance to happiness and you will have no other chance, and I have no one in my life except you
I am going to leave my love and hide my depresstion in my veins because I don't want to bother you
I am the one who would give you anything while your opressing won't change me...
If leaving will make you feel better, I will ask God to help me...
And don't forget the honestly of my faithfulness, my reality and the way I am thinking of you...
You've been upset because of me...And I didn't know how to make it up to you

I've been walking for many years (Years are passing)

That was one of the hardest songs to translate :D
She talk in plural form, but in Arabic it could mean two things...She could be talking about many people such as friends or family. Also in Arabic we use plural form as a sign for respect for certain person such as prince, king, or maybe a lover.

The song is full of figure speeches, the title it self is a figure speech...She doesn't mean that she is walking for many years literally, it's a figure speech for years are passing.

Song name: Mesheet Seneen (I've been walking for many years)
Album: Qad Al Horoof
Song genre: Sharqi, Oriental, Belly Dance
Singer: Asalah, Assala, Asala -
Lyrics by: Al Nasser -
Composed by: Ya'aqoub Al Khobaizi -
Arranged by: Omar Abdulaziz -
Translated by: RADIANT GUY (ME)

I've been walking for many years...
While I was hiding my pain upon them...
For many years my soul was owned by them...
I've never longed to nobody except them...
And I never felt lonely while I was with them!

For my whole life I was trying to hide my agony upon them...
Because I didn't want them to suffer even by a breeze of air blowing on their eyes...
And now I regret it...
Because they betrayed our golden years together and forgot all about love in one second!

I and my heart are confused...
Although many years already passed yet we couldn't forget them...
I've hidden my tear because I didn't want them to see it...
I swallowed my sighs because I didn't want them to hear it!

I've been walking for many years...
While I was hiding my pain upon them...
For many years my soul was owned by them...
I've never longed to nobody except them...
And I never felt lonely while I was with them!

Whenever you are depressed

Another great song by Saber Rebai'e and the duet (composer and writer) Waleed Sa'ad and Hani Abdulkareem...
This song was my favorite song of Saber's 2007 album, I was listening to it non stop for so long, I even had it as my cellphone's ringtone.

The other day I was watching him with the host "Hala Sarhan" (هالة سرحان) and she said that he cried in the studio while he was singing this song...He said that was true he got emotional when he was singing a specific phrase so he wanted to redo it but they confessed him to use the one with the crying part and he did actually release it that way...You can hear that part in the audio track at 1:23 minutes.

I am glad he decided to shot this song among the others from his 2007 album.

Song name: Dhaqat Beek (Whenever you are depressed)
Album: Al Ghorba
Song genre: Egyptian, Pop Music, slow, fast Romance, Love

Singer: Saber Al Rebai'e -
Lyrics by: Hani Abdulkareem -
Composed by: Waleed Sa'ad -
Arranged by: Mid'hat Khamees -
Translated by: RADIANT GUY (ME)

I always support you against day (in your bad days), but when destiny smiles to you and take your side...
You instantly forget all about me while I pray for God to look after you

Whenever you are depressed...You always want me to stick around...
Whenever you are fine...You consider my faithfulness a burden which you want to get rid off...
In both ways I remain silent, I don't want to forget you nor I want to!

People says when a lover can't tolerate his beloved one anymore, he will not love him but will not hate him either...
But I already can't tolerate it anymore yet I can't hate you nor stop loving you!

Autumn leafs

I know, it's been months since the last time I wrote a thing about my latest favorite songs which I keep listening to them all the time.
Many albums released for well known singers and for some new ones, I loved many of them but I've been really crowded lately working on my personal site but now I am kinda free so I can do it again.

It's hard to talk about this song, I love the lyrics more than the arrangement it self but the over all song is superb, at least for me.
Hasna (the singer) usually perform fast tempo songs with fun lyrics but she kinda changed her style in her last album which was released recently.
Until now I loved 3 songs of 7 and that's a good thing :)
I have no idea what people will think about this song but I love it anyway :Pp~

Song name: Waraq Al Khareef (Autumn leafs)
Album: Qalbi Eb Khatar
Song genre: Lebanese, Oriental, Sharqi, Pop Music
Singer: Hasna -
Lyrics by: N/A
Composed by: N/A
Arranged by: N/A
Translated by: RADIANT GUY (ME)

There is a thing which is decreasing constantly...A thing which never reached perfection...
There is a thing which is going to end...A hopeless case...
The autumn leafs are falling...
Tell me, how come this love was murdered?

You are still remaining silent, you rarely talk...
Where did your longing to me gone?
My dream was burned just like a piece of paper, and the night light was extinguished!

You've stolen the sleepiness of my eyes...Don't you realize it?
Where is the lover I used to know?
Where did all the faithfulness gone?
Where did all the love you used to have for me go?

You've changed me

One of my favorite song in her 2007 album, I love the second part of this song specifically (2:43 to the end of the song).

Song name: Ghayyartini (You've changes me) غيرتني
Album: Kol Ma Neqarrab Le Ba'adh
Song genre: Khaleeji
Singer: Angham -
Lyrics by: Hind Al Qadhi -
Composed by: Khalid Ez -
Arranged by: Fahad - فهد
Translated by: RADIANT GUY (ME)

You've changed me...
I am not what I am anymore...
I don't believe in anybody anymore...
You've changed me...
I am afraid of everybody...
Aren't you a human being with feelings and emotions just like us?
You only know how to take but you never give back!

You've changed me...
You've made me regret dreaming that I could teach you how to treasure me...
Now I have to forget all about you because you are a weak person who can not handle my heart and love
Aren't you a human being with feelings and emotions just like us?
You only know how to take but you never give back!

Introduce me to her!

That song reminds me of 2003 Summer time, I listened (and still listening) to it probably 10 zillion times...There is a music instrument which sounds like a violin but it's not a violin, it's really amazing. I think it's one of the best songs by Angham, I love her songs and style but there are some songs that you love more than others.
A remix of the song released in the CD, didn't released in the cassette.

Song name: Arrafha Beya (Arabic script: عرفها بيا) - Introduce me to her!
Singer: Angham -
Song genre: Arab pop music / slow
Album: Omri Ma'ak (2003)

Lyrics by: Essam Hosny
Translated by: Bashar Al-Ba'noon (aka radiant guy) radiantguy.com
Composed by: Tamer Ali
Arranged by: Fahad

Why did you remain silent?
Tell her!
What's going on between us!
Why you didn't tell her about our love story?
Introduce me to her!
Answer me!
Or let me tell her everything and she will be the judge!

Deny my existence to her!
Swear to her that our love is over!
Fool her and tell her...
That your life belongs to her...
That her smile cured your wounds!

Tell her everything you told me!
Every single word you told me!
That you truly feel comfortable with me...
That you've owned the world and the universe the day you knew her!
That's you will belong to nobody except her!

Introduce me to her!
Answer me!
Or let me tell her everything and she will be the judge!

Over

Photo source: Tarkan.com (Official site of Tarkan)

Few months ago I wrote about Tarkan's first English album, the song OVER is one of my favorite songs If not my favorite.

Song name: Over
Album name: Come Closer (2006)
Singer name: Tarkan

Sorry can be the hardest word
When you know you're wrong
Shes heard it all before
with every word unspoken
Each moment comes undone
You can feel that she is gone

OOO
Cant get you out of my mind
just cant move on

Oh I'm broken
So this is how I fall
Too late for sorry
You cant hear me call
Oh no now I cant go back its
Over, over

When your hearts not open
You cant see what you've got
Or you started from
It makes no sense that I just turned
walked away but I did
How did I just give in

OOO
Cant get you out of my mind
just cant move on

Oh I'm broken
So this is how I fall
Too late for sorry
You cant hear me call
Oh no now I cant go back its
Over, over

I should let you know
Without you I'm so lost
All alone so cold without you
How did I ever let you go
How did I ever let you go

[Chorus]

Oh I'm broken
Too late for sorry
Oh no, is it really over?

Who are you?

One amazing melancholic song of the singer Angham, I am so into the song; perfect lyrics, performance, music and arrangement...You can feel the Arabian desert through the man's voice who was performing some "Mawwals" in the background.

The song is talking about Angham who break apart with the one who she used to love, now he is back; she was trying to push him away because she didn't want him to break her heart again.

I loved many songs in that album such as "Astannah Eih", "Qol Keda" and "Bahibbik Wahashteeni".

Song name: Inta Meen? (Who are you?)
Genre: Khaleeji classic/Slow
Album: Bahibbik Wahashteeni (2005)
Singer: Angham
Lyrics by: Fahad Thamal
Composed by: El Faisal
Arranged by: Ismael
Translated by: radiant guy (Me)

Look who is talking about love?! *being sarcastic*
Dear God; help me to deal with him!
Many years passed...
And now my longing to him is dead!

What kind of human being are you?
Don't you have any emotions at all?
That's it...
Let me have my own life back :(

You have no rights to return to me..
I choked with my own saliva and sunk in my own tears the day you told me you want to brake apart!
That's it...
I beg you to leave, I can't tolerate it anymore, I don't recognize you anymore, I've never set my eyes on you!

Tell me, who can left the rain drops to the sky again?
You can't, neither do I!
What kind of humans are you?
That's it...
Let me have my own life back :(

Where are you?

This song was performed by the late singer Thekra (Arabic script: ذكرى) may her soul rest in peace :( 3 years ago on 28th of November 2003) she was murdered by her husband, this is a tribute from me to her soul.
I can never ever forget her, I am still
denying the fact that she is not living with us anymore.

I just added a biography of her in wikipedia.org Here is a direct link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thekra

The first three minutes of the song you'll hear a violene playing solo with Thekra showing off her voice by repeating the word "Ya Habeebi" (Arabic for "my love" or "my beloved one").

Music in the gulf region (locally referred to as "Khaleeji" Music) have many genres and rhythms this song is a great example of Khaleeji folklore genre called "Samri", it's usually used with melancholic poetry/lyrics.

Song name: "Wainik Inta?" (Arabic script: ?وينك انت) Where are you?
Album: Thekra 2 (Arabic script:
Singer: Thekra (Arabic script:
Lyrics by: Turki Composed by: Tariq Mohammed (Rumors says that the composer and the poet are the exact person but he is using a nick name since he is a prince).

My beloved, can you see where did you end up and where did I?
My beloved one; you've left me alone and I am lost since then!

My beloved one, everything about me was changed..
Everybody knew about it; I used to say love does not exist but now I admit it...LOVE DO EXIST!

My wishes and youth were extinguished...
I am weak as a skinny tree standing against a great storm...
Sigh...If a kid listen to my depressing story he will have a grey hair instantly!

My beloved one, I wish when you left; you took "my longing" with you to comfort both of us!
But instead you left me with depression and wounds.

I am OK!

This is one more tribute for Thekra (may her soul rest in heaven)...
I just added a biography of her in wikipedia.org Here is a direct link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thekra

One of her hit songs in the gulf area performed in "Khaleeji Dialect" (A form of Arabic language mainly spoken in Kuwait, eastern Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and parts of Oman).
The song's music is a kind of "Khaleeji" folklore music.

Lyrics by: Turki
Composed by: Tariq Mohammed (Rumors says that the composer and the poet are the exact person but he is using a nick name since he is a prince).

I am ok, my beloved one don't worry about me..
It's just a tiny wound on the tip of my finger...
It's will heel very soon and it's might leave no scar at all If your hand touched mine!

You made laugh!
I wonder what will you do if you actually saw the wounds of my heart?!
I wonder what will you do if you saw the mountains of depression which I am carrying on my chest?!
If you felt how much my soul is thirsty for happiness; You would be stunned by my resistance to despair!

The despair which I've been through in my life time is not tiny!
Don't let my fake smile fool you because my heart is drunk with sadness!
Sadness wouldn't let me alone even for one single moment!

I am sorry my beloved one...
The wound of my heart is so deep; it's forced me to let it out and share it with you.
Please don't blame my heart because it's felt sorry for it self!

Good morning...

It's not the exact songs translation, It's very hard to translate Arab poetry so I had to modify it and change few things :Pp~

The song is made of three parts, in the first one she start complaining about things in indirect way, the second part she start blaming him gently and in the third part she welcome him back.

It's a great example of Khaleeji Tarab songs.

Song name: Yes'ed Sabahak (Good morning)
Album: Awqat (Released in the CD only) 2004
Singer: Asalah (Arabic script:
Lyrics by: Prince Abdul-Rahman Bin Mosa'ad
Composed by: Sadiq Al Sha'er (Rumours says that the writer and the composer are the exact person, but he is using a nick name when he compose; since he is a prince)
Arranged by: Ameer Abdulmajeed

Good morning my love, I'm doing just OK...
Everything the way it's always been...
My tears still on my cheeks...
The pain still living in my chest...
The safeness still gone since the day you left...
The sleepless nights are being repeated over and over...
Despair refusing to leave me alone...
My eyes are bleeding with tears...
Even the wounds which you caused still staying in my heart...
And my lips still repeating the words which we said the last time we met...
I am doing just OK...
Good morning my love...

It's typical of you, whenever I felt that the whole world is collapsing around me you just disappear and whenever you felt that the world is collapsing around you; you'll return to me!
It's typical of you...You always return in the right time; when I don't need you anymore!
Can you see now?
Everything the way it's always been...
Good morning my love...

Is that the light of the morning or it's yours?
Is that the warmth of the roses or it's yours?
I don't know whether I should spread my precious tears on your shoulder or just walk away?
Can you see it now my soul's love?
Everything the way it's always been...
Good morning my love..

He promised one hundred times

Arab pop song with Arab rhythms performed by Diana Haddad, a great song.
I translated the first part of the song, It was hard to translate the other parts...It's really hard to translate Arabic poetry :(

He promised one hundred times that he will be mine forever!
But the exact moment I dedicated my love to him; he forgot all about his promise!
That's when I found out that he is a great liar...
He always promise but never keep his promises, he only fall in love for very few days then he forget all about his love!

I miss you

One of my very favorite songs released in 2003, It's a sad song with great lyrics. It was really hard to translate it, I guess the first paragraph was translated well but the 2nd and 3rd are meaningless in English!
The song reminds me of the beginning of the American invasion of Iraq in 2003, the whole album reminds me of that year.
The album was one of my favorite albums of the year 2003.

Singer: Sherine (Shereen | Arabic script:
Lyrics by: Nasr Mahroosnt>
Composed by: Riyadh Al Hamsharint>
Album: Jarh Thani (Second wound) 2003
Translated by: Bashar (Me)

I miss you even while I am sitting beside you!
I miss you; I even miss every single day I am spending with you!
And every second with out being with you is killing me!
And every single night I am living with out being with you makes my happy, scared and wounded.
I am afraid that even when I die I will still be missing you!

You are promising that there is no tomorrow, no day after tomorrow and I will not spend a single moment with out being with you; then you became late and I miss you more and I can do nothing about it because I don't have anybody to miss except you.

You are plaining many things and telling me many more promises but eventually I find my self with out you; then you give my some more hope but I always end up living the torture of your absence!

Never!

One of my very favorite songs of all times!
I think no matter how much I say that I love it, it's will never be enough to express the way I love it!
It's this kind of songs which you love everything about, Music, Lyrics, Arrangment and the singer performance.

The song released in the year 2002 (Arabic), I just found out that there is a Turkish version of it released in the year 2004...The Turkish song called "Hadi Git" and it was performed by "Seden Gürel".
It's happens a lot over her, sometimes Turkish use Arabic songs and sometimes Arabs takes Turkish music...Sometimes It's legally others not (It's was legal this time).

Song name: Benoub (Never)
Singer: Najwa Karam
Album: Tahamooni (2002)
Writer and composer: Marwan Khoury
Arranged by: Mohammed Mustafa
Translated by: Me

Never ever go away from me...
My eyes don't sleep because my beloved is coming tonight...
I wish we could find a medicine to cure my agony...
Time seems to pass at a slow pace with our date getting closer.

The evening wind as a signal of separation, It was blowing north while I sat by myself, Suddenly a warm breeze blew and reminded me of my beloved's smile!
O you sadness standing ready to stab my heart with your spears!

The night of mourning is over...
My beloved is coming back to live in (fill) my heart...
Life passes in an eye glance...
O darling, where are you? Come back to save my love!

The song

"AL GHENYWA" is a great song by Latifa, released in the year 1997 as a part two of her 1986 hit song "Akthar Min Roohi" (More than my soul).
Both songs are a mix of Arab instruments and Spanish Tango.

Song Genre: Tango
Singer: Latifa

Lyrics by: Abdulwahab Mohammed

The song that we use to hear when we’re together is still on my mind constantly.
It's always moves and touches me every time I hear it.
I wonder if it’s the same for you when you hear it, does it still effect u the same way?
Does it make u cry about the way we ended up? Or you will not even care?
Did you forgot all about it; did you forget all about me too?
Did you completely forget me and our song?
The song that said “ I love you more than myself, honestly I love you even more”.

Years past and life drifted us apart; look who you’re with now, and who I’m with.
But I’m still thinking of our days together, and the same song still comes on my mind constantly.
I wonder if it’s the same for you when you hear it, does it still effect u the same way?
Does it make u cry about the way we ended up? Or you will not even care?
Did you forgot all about it; did you forget all about me too?
Did you completely forget me and our song?
The song that said “ I love you more than myself, honestly I love you even more”

Are you crying about the way we ended up?
“ I love you more than myself, honestly I love you even more”

Are you crying about the way we ended up?
“ I love you more than myself, honestly I love you even more”

Are you crying about the way we ended up?
“ I love you more than myself, honestly I love you even more”

Are you crying about the way we ended up?

It's me

Released in Thekra's (Zekra's) 2000 album. This album was her first Khaleeji album of her.

It's me again, listen to me till the end..

My longing to you is increasing every second and I can't stand it anymore!

That's why I walked the long way to you, while I was lying to my self and hoping that you'll take me back; although I knew it's impossible!

I know that we already decided to break a part, I know that we reached the end...
Believe me, my heart is burning inside out; forgive me because I made you worried...
I have no body in the whole world to return to except you...
you are the owner of my dreams...
Your love made lost and wonder!
Our ex-love wasn't a tiny love!

That's it?
You decided to go away?
And I can do nothing to stop it...
That's it?
Nothing left to me anymore...
Please be merciful with me.
I need you with me tonight, reach me with your hand; help me to stabilize my steps...
Collect the broken pieces of me....Give me my treatment then you can leave!

Happy anniversary

Amazing song by Angham...It's kinda old/classic Khaleeji song yet it's still great, I had a hard time to translate it; I said it million times and i will say it one more time, the Arab poetry loses the power during translation. It's always better to read the original one.
This song is a great example of Khaleeji Classic Songs (Khaleeji refers to the Music in Khaleeji Arab Dialect which it's spoken in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Arab Emirates and Oman).
F.Y.I. Angham is Egyptian singer.

Song name: Eidina Mobarak - عيدنا مبارك (Happy anniversary)
Album: Khalli Bokra Li Bokra (1998)
Singer: Angham - انغام (Arabic for melodies)
Written by: Turki Bin Abdulrahman
Composed by: Tariq Mohammed (Rumors says that he is the writer using a nick name since he is a prince)

The exact spot; where we always met; every year during a starry night such as this one...
To celebrate the "first day we met" anniversary...Our love anniversary...

The exact stars...
The exact moon...
Even it's the exact air breeze which it's used to dally the trees leafs...
Everything like the way it's always been...
But we are not anymore...
Destiny brake us a part...
Everything is gone between us exept the echo of our song...

Happy anniversary my love...
Happy anniversary my love.. .
Happy anniversary my love....

I swear I am not challenging!

Finally Asalah's 2006 album released!
The album's title is "Hayati", very poetic song but I didn't really like it...
One of my favorite songs in the album called "Wallahi Ma Tahaddi" (Arabic for I swear I am not challenging).

Song name: Wallah Ma Tahaddi! (I swear I am not challenging!)
Singer: Asalah

Album: Hayati (2006)
Writte by: Hani Abdulkareem
Composed by: Waleed Sa'ad
Arranged by: Kareem Abdulwahab
Translated by: Bashar (me)

I swear I'm not challenging you nor wondering how will you live with out being with me..
I know that you'll need few days to get used to it and forget all about me!

I just feel bad when I see the "I feel sorry about you" look in your eyes!
It's doesn't really suites you!

That's it, you are leaving me and I am accepting this fact..
No body was ever killed by loneliness, I used to be lonely before meeting you!

So what If I felt bad about it?
I am a normal human being with feelings and a heart made of blood and flesh...
That's why I have all rights to be in pain!

No matter how many people in pain you meet; yet you will not find anybody in more pain than mine..
Even If I was dieing and I was longing to you...
I rather to die than letting you see me weak!

That's it, you are leaving me and I am accepting this fact..
No body was ever killed by loneliness, I used to be lonely before meeting you!

That's it, you are leaving me and I am accepting this fact..
No body was ever killed by loneliness, I used to be lonely before meeting you!
